1. Spread out across platforms 

When it comes to marketing, it’s important you don’t throw all your eggs in one basket. As the marketing world changes so much on a continual basis, you never want to be restricted to one platform. While it might produce big results one day, this could soon change the next day.

Because of this, always spread the wealth and make sure you use your marketing budget wisely. Use multiple platforms to promote your business, experiment with new channels when they become available, and track the key performance indicators (KPIs) to see what’s working.

2. Analyze the competition 

When analyzing your competitors, don’t stick to just seeing what products and services they offer. Instead, dig deeper, learn what they’re doing, and see why they are successful, especially with their marketing efforts.

What if you’re not sure who your competitors are? First, start by viewing the most visited websites in your chosen niche. When you find the highest-ranking sites, you’ll know their SEO and other marketing efforts are successful. Then with the right analysis, you’ll be able to take a close look at what they’re doing in terms of promoting their site.

3. Establish relationships

When you think about marketing, your first mission will generally be to attract new customers and sales. However, don’t underestimate how important your current customers are to the success of your business.

Customer loyalty can be the difference between your business succeeding or failing. Based on statistics, small businesses generate more than half their revenue from repeat customers. This means your marketing efforts should be engaging, personalized, and exactly what new and current customers want to see.

4. Use clear calls to action 

Your marketing efforts are bringing people to your website, yet you’re not converting. Why? Well, one issue could be you don’t utilize clear and impactful calls to action. With just the right message in the right place, you can massively improve the odds of potential customers following through and taking that next step.

5. Listen to your audience

Ultimately, you want to please your customers. Therefore, you want to supply your audience with value. As a result, always account for their thoughts and feelings when it comes to your marketing efforts. Supply them with value – think special offers, support, and high-quality content – and they are likely to feel more valued. The result: they’ll stay loyal to your brand and even recommend you to others.
